On Friday 16th September, we celebrated the birth anniversary of our illustrious founder- Dr. Lakhumal Hiranand Hiranandani. He was born on 17th September 1917 and lived a long and illustrious life encompassing 96 years.
Dr Hiranandani was an otorhinolaryngologist, social activist and philanthropist, known for pioneering several surgical procedures which later came to be known as Dr. Hiranandani's Operations. He was the founder chairman of Hiranandani Foundation Trust which runs schools in India. He was a recipient of the Golden Award of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, the first Indian and the fifth overall to receive the honour. At HFS International we were honoured to welcome our trustee Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani- co-founder and managing director of Hiranandani Group- one of the most premium real estate developers of India. An eminent personality in his own right, he has also contributed tremendously in the field of education. Dr. Niranjan regaled us with anecdotes about his late father Dr L.H. Hiranandani or Daddy as he was fondly called by all. A voracious speaker, he extolled students to be happy and content and lifelong learners just like his father who even at the ripe old age of 82 wanted to further hone his skills and thus travelled to Germany to learn a new surgical procedure!
At Beaumont all of us enthusiastically celebrated the life of our dear founder. Students class wise made beautiful cards and we too got to learn some amazing facts about our illustrious founder. May all our students grow and flourish like him.
