Peru- Cultural Celebrations

Our Senior KG Student Daniel's mother - Mrs Andrea Paradiso, was our guest speaker and gave a very interesting presentation about Daniel's birth country Peru, on 24th August 2022.

Through an interactive game- Hot Potato, which for a change was played by the teachers, we embarked on a journey to Peru a country in South America. We got a wonderful insight about this beautiful country and its lovely culture.

We learned about the following:

Pachamama -the Mother Goddess, we viewed a wonderful short story .

Delicious food- Sweets- Alfajores, Purple corn juice- Chicha, baby potatoes with a yummy dip. Students and staff even sampled some of this food which our gracious guest speaker had brought along.

Geography - The famous Amazon Jungle and the animals Pink Dolphin, Red Monkey and Jaguar. Machu Pichu- the world famous Incan citadel set in the Andes mountains

Peruvian Celebrations- which involve a lot of music and dancing. We had Daniel play the wind instrument Samponia for us.

Language- We learned some Spanish words which is the official language of Peru- Hola, Gracias, Uno Dos, Tres, Gato Perro (Dog and Cat)

Flag of Peru- Significance of the various images in the flag

We indeed learned a lot about the country Peru and its culture.

We are very thankful to Mrs Andrea Paradiso for this wonderful experience.
